For weeks now, we’ve all been paying close attention to the impact of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Meanwhile, the spread of the virus has changed daily life all across America and around the world, and you’re definitely not alone if it’s causing you some challenges! Since we’re “social distancing,” more of us are working from home than ever before. You might be facing the pain of unemployment, or maybe you’ve been working on the frontlines. We’re also limited in who we can see and what we can do. This means that your daily routine might look a lot different than before, and it’s normal if this is “throwing you off.” Perhaps most of all, you might be feeling some difficult emotions: confusion, fear, anxiety, stress, grief, etc. That’s why it’s so important to lean on others during this time, stay connected, and find meaningful ways of coping with all that is happening. Let’s Talk about Coping with COVID-19

We have partnered with the Obesity Action Coalition (OAC) to co-host a Tweet Chat on April 7 at 8pm EST about coping during the age of COVID-19 and how we can work on healthy behaviors for physical, mental and emotional well-being. EVERYONE is encouraged to join the Tweet Chat!

This IS FOR YOU if…

You are looking for coping tips, strategies and resources

You want to stay connected

You want to prioritize health and self-care

You are a healthcare provider looking for ways to help your patients

These are the questions the Tweet Chat will feature:

1. What unique challenges might COVID-19 be presenting to people affected by obesity or who are struggling with their weight? What challenges are your patients sharing? #obsm

2. Staying informed about COVID-19 is important, but news/social media coverage can be overwhelming and stressful. How are you coping? Any tips? #obsm

3. What are some useful resources you or your patients have been using during this time (staying informed, staying healthy, coping, etc.) #obsm

4. What are some acts of self-care you or your patients are taking part in? #obsm

5. Share something positive that is happening in your life right now or something you are looking forward to. #obsm

SAVE THE DATE for April 7th at 8:00 pm EST! Make sure you follow the #obsm hashtag and add it to your posts to participate!
